DIY Fourth of July Hand Print Shirt

I know it's only June 1 but July 4 is going to be here before we know it! Last year I found a cute idea on instagram and thought I'm sure I must have a white shirt laying around to do this with! I already had the shirt and the paint so it didn't cost me anything. So if you're looking for a super cute Fourth of July shirt, this is it!

Supplies: White shirt, red & blue paint (washable is best),
and baby wipes for clean up.

I covered my son's highchair tray with a trash bag to prevent messes.

I used blue paint and his hand print for the stars
and dipped his finger in the red paint for the stripes.

One awesome Fourth of July shirt
and great memories!

Protect Your Door From Your Wreath Hanger

For years I've used a wreath hanger on our front door but little did I know what damage it was doing to the door. After getting our house repainted last year my husband didn't want me putting it back up so it wouldn't damage the new paint.

Of course I still wanted to hang my wreaths on the door, so I had to come up with a solution. I got to thinking... how can I protect the door? I kept thinking I must be able to put something on the inside of the wreath hanger (that you wouldn't be able to see) that will protect the door's paint from getting scratched. This is what I came up with....

What you'll need to protect your door:
- felt (scraps will do)
- a pair of scissors
- a hot glue gun

The greatest part was I already these things I already had around the house.

Step 1: Cut two felt pieces to fit the door hanger.

Step 2: Hot glue felt pieces onto the wreath hanger.

Step 3: Let glue dry and decorate your door!

Green Eggs and Easter Ham

This has become a tried and true recipe in our house. I used this recipe for the first time three years ago when I made my first Easter dinner and my first ham. My husband and I loved the recipe so much that I've never used any other ham glaze. He says it's a tradition now and that Easter isn't complete without my ham. The man loves me and my cooking :)

I realized when preparing this years Easter ham that I haven't shared this awesome recipe with all of you yet! So if you're looking for an awesome ham recipe, this is IT!

To make the glaze you'll need:
- a bowl to mix it in
- a liquid measuring cup
- a basting brush
- 1/3 measuring cup
- 1 Tablespoon
- 1 teaspoon

The glaze ingredients:
(1 Bone-in Ham)
- Dijon Mustard
- Balsamic Vinegar
- Brown Sugar
- Black Pepper
- Rosemary
- White Wine or Champagne
(We don't include the alcohol, as there are some family members that don't like alcohol.)
Combine all ingredients, except the alcohol.
If you're going to include alcohol in the recipe it goes in later.

1/3 cup brown sugar

Add 3 Tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar

Add 3 Tablespoons Dijon Mustard

Add 1 teaspoon Black Pepper

My mortar and pestle comes in handy to crush rosemary!

Add 1 Tablespoon crushed rosemary

Next, mix the ingredients together.

Seriously the BEST glaze EVER!

Cook the ham according to package directions. Basting it periodically while it cooks.
This year we used a spiral cut but other hams will need to be scored before basting and cooking.

Enjoy this wonderful ham for next Easter or an occasion!
We sure do!

Give Thanks for Cranberry Dip

Thanksgiving is almost upon us and there is much to be thankful for! I am thankful for my wonderful husband (happy birthday baby!), our health and happiness, great family, traditions, a future full of possibilities, and most of all my God who loves me so much that He died for me!

Something that is becoming a tradition is my cranberry dip for Thanksgiving. I LOVE this stuff... it's delicious! I also love that it is easy to make. The original recipe can be found here but I've made a few small changes. I originally did it because the first time I made it the night before Thanksgiving a few years ago I didn't have enough of the ingredients so I made some substitutions and we all liked it so much that way that I've never followed the recipe exactly.

Ingredients: 24 oz fresh cranberries, 1/2 cup green onion, 1/2 cup cilantro,
1 medium-large jalapeno, 2 Tablespoons lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoon cumin,
1 cup (each) granulated sugar & brown sugar, a pinch of salt,
2 (8 oz) containers of cream cheese, and crackers.

Step 1: Rinse cranberries and chop in food processor.
I use my Ninja for this and did the cranberries in a few rounds.
After put chopped cranberries into a medium glass bowl.

Step 2: Chop cilantro, green onion, and jalapeno.

Step 3: After coarsely chopping the cilantro, green onion, and jalapeno,
place into the food processor for a finer chop. Add ingredients to the cranberries.

Step 4: Add lemon juice and stir together.

Step 5: Add cumin and salt, stirring all ingredients.

Step 6: Add granulated sugar

and add brown sugar.

Stir all ingredients until well combined.
Cover bowl with plastic wrap and let the cranberry mixture marinade over night.

Spread cream cheese onto a platter, covering it with your cranberry mixture. Serve with crackers and enjoy!

I would love to hear what all of you are thankful for this year.
So please leave me a comment.

Happy Crafting and Thanksgiving!
